League of Legends Patch 26.11 – Support Meta Overhaul, Heartsteel Buff, Smolder Nerfs, and Italian Skins

“It’s tank time!” That’s the headline for League of Legends Patch 26.11. After seeing enchanters dominate for most of the year and mage supports pumping out damage with Deathfire Touch, Riot is taking a holistic pass at the support role. Melee supports are getting love through keystone buffs (Aftershock, Guardian) and item adjustments (Locket, Knight’s Vow, Zeke’s). Enchanters are being tapped down via Summon Aery, Dream Maker, Moonstone Renewer, and Echoes of Helia nerfs. Imperial Mandate has been completely reworked.

🚀 League of Legends Patch 26.11 – Support Meta Overhaul, Heartsteel Buff, and Italian Skins

2. Support System Overhaul – Enchanters Down, Tanks Up

Riot is making a coordinated set of changes to break the enchanter-heavy support meta that has stagnated over the year.

Keystone / ItemChange
Summon AeryShield 30–100 → 20–100 (early nerf)
AftershockArmor/MR 35 (+80% bonus) → 45 (+75% bonus) (early buff)
GuardianCooldown 90–40 → 75–40; Shield adjusted (more HP scaling, less base/AP)
Dream MakerBlue bubble reduction 75–255 → 50–194; now reduces entire damage cast (not just first instance). Purple bubble damage 50–170 → 40–160; now triggers on next damaging attack or ability (AoE penalty).
Moonstone RenewerNo longer double‑dips Heal/Shield power on bounces; prioritizes lower health allies.
Imperial MandateReworked: Build path changed, now gives 65 AP, 15 AH, 150% mana regen. New effects: +15 AH for immobilizing abilities; on immobilizing an enemy, mark them as 6% Vulnerable (increased damage taken).
Echoes of HeliaDamage stored 35% → 30% (nerf)
Locket of the Iron SolariArmor/MR 25 → 30 (buff)
Knight’s VowDamage redirection 12% → 14%; heal 10% → 12%
Zeke’s ConvergenceFrostfire Tempest now readies on ult cast for 5 seconds, then triggers when enemy enters range – quality of life for long‑range ults (Leona, Nautilus).

Grubs buff: Damage per tick increased; Voidmite HP now equal to melee minion (was 60%). This encourages support roaming.

Watermark Removed 2026 05 29 T224858.448

Our take: This is the most significant support meta shakeup in months. Imperial Mandate becomes a utility enabler for CC supports rather than a Nami‑exclusive item. Moonstone no longer double‑dipping is a huge nerf to enchanter teamfight sustain. Tank supports should feel much better.

3. Champion Changes – Highlights

ChampionChange
BrandBase armor 27 → 24 (targeting bot lane power)
DianaMonster damage 230% → 270%; W bonus health 9% → 11% (jungle buff)
EkkoPassive per‑enemy cooldown 5s → 4s (buff)
HeimerdingerTurret attack range 530→550, vision 585→650; turrets gain +50 range vs minions if nothing else in range. E vision duration 1s→1.25s.
KassadinQ cooldown 10–8 → 9–7; W base magic damage 20→25 (early buffs)
QuinnPassive monster damage 50→75; Q monster damage 150%→200% (jungle Quinn buff)
SmolderPassive Q bonus magic damage scaling reworked (reduced base, more crit scaling); E bonus damage reworked. Pushing him toward crit builds, away from bruiser.
TeemoArmor growth 4.95→4.5 per level; E on‑hit/poison AD ratios halved (nerf to Shiv builds)
Xin ZhaoPassive healing AP ratio reduced (45–80% → 45/55/80%?), bonus damage now gains AP scaling (compensation). Heal amount reduced slightly.

Our take: Smolder nerfs are aimed at killing the bruiser build. Quinn jungle might become a thing. Heimerdinger’s turret changes make laning less miserable. Kassadin gets early game help.

4. Item Changes

ItemChange
Experimental HexplateRanged users: 35% AS and 14% MS (down from 50%/20%). Melee unchanged.
HeartsteelDamage to permanent health conversion 8% → 10% (revert of a year‑old nerf)
Statikk ShivAD 40 → 45

Item

5. Runes – Deathfire Touch

Deathfire Touch now deals magic damage only (was adaptive). This removes extreme synergy with Black Cleaver.

6. ARAM & ARAM: Mayhem

Mayhem adjustments include reduced damage dealt/taken for several champions (Gwen, Vayne, Xayah, Kalista, Fizz, Tristana, Twitch, Smolder, Varus, Samira, Fiddlesticks) to bring them in line. Many bug fixes.

ARAM – Qiyana gains 20 ability haste.

7. Arena Updates

Three new Guests of Honor: Kayle (Divine Ascent – gold and augment reward), Nilah (Joyful Delight – reduce Legendary Anvil price, bonus rerolls on hotstreak), Vayne (Tools of the Hunt – gain from “tool” augments), Yone (Inner Demon – vote to ally with demons or hunters). Numerous augment adjustments (Laser Eyes, Contract Killer, Bounce of the Poro King, Dashing, etc.) and item changes (Diamond‑Tipped Spear, Hexbolt Companion, Immortal Shieldbow, Infinity Edge, Statikk Shiv, Kinkou Jitte reverted, Kraken Slayer, Locket, Mikael’s, Redemption, Stormrazor, Terminus, Wit’s End, Wordless Promise, Dawncore). Champion tweaks for Kalista, Warwick, Karthus, Master Yi, Soraka, Swain.

10. BuyCarry Team’s Take

Patch 26.11 is a meta‑shifting update for support players. Enchanters have ruled for too long, and these changes – especially the Moonstone double‑dip removal and Imperial Mandate rework – will likely bring tank supports back into the meta. Heartsteel buff is a treat for top lane chonky bois, while the Hexplate ranged nerf is a long‑overdue correction.

What we love:

  • Imperial Mandate rework – now a genuine option for engage supports.
  • Heartsteel revert – greedy tank itemization is fun.
  • Quinn jungle buffs – off‑meta enthusiasts will have a field day.
  • WASD improvements – Riot continues to polish the alternative control scheme.
  • Italian food skins – Sion as a pizza chef is peak League humor.
